In early September, Caroline Hedwall made the perfect return from two months out through injury by successfully defending the UNIQA Ladies Golf Open presented by Raiffeisen in Austria.

Defending LET Austrian Open Champion – Catherine Hedwall
The 23-year-old Swede compiled rounds of 67, 66 and 70 for a three round total of 203, 13 under to win by four strokes – the same margin of victory as the previous year- on a hot and sunny day at Golf Club Fohrenwaldh in Wiener Neustadt.
In order to do so Hedwall needed to negotiate the recently redesigned 13th hole. As part of the on-going course development and in keeping with the Jeff Howes Golf Design MasterPlan for the course the 13th green was redesigned, moved back and right.

The newly redesigned 13th hole at GC Fohrenwald – home to the LET (Ladies) Austrian Open
Continuing the implementation of the Jeff Howes Golf Design MasterPlan drafted for the Club some years ago work has commenced on the redesign of the 17th hole at Enniscorthy Golf Club.

17th Green at Enniscorthy at Rough Shaping stage
This uphill par 4, measuring 361m had a green which was holding water and had a very severe slope from back to front. The new design will remedy these issues and will feature a green with more interesting pinable areas.
One year on after the sad & premature death of Seve, “The Heritage Golf & Country Club”, have honoured the great Spaniard by naming their course “The Ballesteros Course”.
The resort at Killenard, Co. Laois was Seve’s only design work in Ireland and it was a co-design with us here at Jeff Howes Golf Design. When approached by the Club regarding the potential renaming of the course we wholeheartedly agreed it would be a fitting tribute to the most flamboyant golfer ever!
Go n’eiri an bothar leat Seve!

Jamie Donaldson punches the air in delight!
Congratulations to Jamie Donaldson for his outstanding win on Sunday at Royal Portrush Golf Club, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland.
It was wonderful to see the great crowds on the 18th fairway not too dissimilar to a British Open final Day!
Maybe this classic Colt venue will get on the British Open rota – it would be a tremendous addition!
